Best Celebrity Style Trends that will influence this year
As we look back on 2017, we cannot fail to notice a plethora of new styles – from movies, to songs and books, and, of course, in fashion. It seems that in the past few years we’ve been looking for inspiration in the past decades, modernizing these styles a bit more, thus creating something new, unique and very fashionable. 2017 was no different, and these are the most popular trends set by celebrities in the previous year that will influence this one:
1. Pink is the colour of…
Pink was once considered the must-have colour of all girls looking up to Barbie dolls, but this colour was worn a bit differently in 2017. The whole pink-is-back trend was conceived by popular brands such as Prada, Balenciaga and Valentino, but it was the celebrities such as Gigi Hadid, Jessica Alba and Alexa Chung who promoted this colour in the most successful way. If you take a look at all the red-carpet photographs, you’ll definitely notice all of the shades of the most romantic colour, appearing on long dresses, pants and even jackets. Even though pink is not considered a colour for winter, it is not rare to see pink being worn for the holidays. However, pay close attention, as this colour will without a doubt be huge in the spring of 2018.
2. What did you say about fanny packs?
Who would have thought that fanny packs were going to stage a successful comeback in the fashion industry? Even though they were extremely popular in the ‘90s and then seriously judged and laughed at in the previous decade, fanny packs shockingly made their successful return this year. This trend was so popular among celebrities that even big fashion companies such as Chanel released their own version of a fanny pack that was seen around the waist of celebrities such as Kourtney Kardashian and Kylie Jenner. While on the topic of bags, it is very important to notice that micro bags were also very popular this year. Gigi Hadid, was one of the most important advocates of the micro bag, especially of those by the breakout luxury brand Stalvey.
3. Athletic + leisure
Athletic + leisure = Athleisure. The style trend of wearing sports clothes in other situations, such as for school, going out, or even in the workplace, became huge this year. Is it because it is a mixture of casual and athletic wear, because it embraces both the casual and sporty style, or simply because it’s both nice and comfy? Probably all three. Celebrities such as Rihanna, Chrissy Teigen and Kate Hudson were very popular influencers of this style, so wearing sweatpants or sneakers for going to a cafe or the local mall became a very fashionable outfit. Many fashion brands started creating special athleisure lines, such as the very popular and comfortable Adidas Gazelle shoes. If you take a look around, you will definitely see that this trend is here to stay for many years to come.
4. Double the denim
Once considered too-much, wearing double denim became the outfit the previous year. Thanks to Gigi Hadid (who is obviously one of the most important trendsetters at the moment) and Zoe Kravitz, wearing jeans with a denim vest or a jacket is simply so yes. Channelling the ‘90s has never been easier – just pair up any denim that you have, and you have yourself a look. If you want to go more Zoe, try to match the shade of the denim, but you can always go with a bluer shirt and regular denim jeans like Dakota Fanning and Gigi.
5. These white boots were made for walking
As far as shoes are concerned, the white boot is definitely the most striking trend. This style first gained traction during Fashion Week in February 2017, and it has reigned supreme ever since, with celebrities such as Emily Ratajkowski and Rihanna rocking this style in a chic way.
Times change and so do the fashion trends. Some things that were once considered unimaginable just became the must-haves of the season. So, can we guess what style 2018 has in store for us?
