Healthy Skin with minimal effort

Keep Your Skin Healthy with Minimal Effort

Beauty may not be skin deep, but the appearance of your skin has much to do with how you feel on the inside, and we’re not talking only about your self-confidence. Your skin is also the reflection of your overall health, and if you don’t take proper care of it, you can look exhausted, older and even ill. The key to having a healthy, glowing complexion is nourishing your skin inside out. That doesn’t mean you should spend hours applying various facial masks, though. In fact, you would be surprised to know just how easy it is to achieve healthy skin, by following some simple tips.

Start from the inside

Skin Healthy with minimal effort

It is almost impossible to have healthy skin if you are not eating a proper diet and drinking plenty of water. There is no amount of expensive skin care products and beauty treatments that will help you if you don’t start from the inside. A diet rich in fruits, vegetables, lean proteins and whole grains, and low in processed carbohydrates and unhealthy fats can promote a clear complexion. Also, drinking enough water will help your skin stay hydrated from the inside. Besides drinking water, you can also have a cup or two of green tea, chamomile and red tea.

Have a simple routine

Simple Beauty Routine

If your skin routine includes more than seven different products, you might not be doing your skin any favours. On the contrary, keeping it simple will not only save you precious time, it will also allow your skin to rest from the amount of ingredients you are applying to it. The three products you will always need are a cleanser, a toner and a moisturiser, and you can complete the list with a night cream and a scrub. Scrubs that contain powerful natural ingredient like caffeine can be very helpful. Also, you can use eye products if you notice any changes in the area around your eyes.

Shop wisely

shopping online

Shopping for skin care products often takes up more of your time than you would wish. You can cut it in half with some handy changes:

  • Know your skin: All-skin-types products are usually a trap. It is far more effective to know your skin type and the issues you’re having (e.g. ageing, acne) and buy products accordingly.
  • Make a list: This sounds like a no-brainer, but we bet you haven’t tried it yet.
  • Order online: Finally, if you eliminate the foot-traffic, you can buy your healthy products in a matter of minutes. Just find a trusted discount chemist and place your order.

Protect your skin

Skin Care Travel Tips

We all love the sun, but to be fair, it is not very nice to our skin. Overexposure to the sun can slow down the natural process of collagen production and cause wrinkles. Protecting the skin from the sun is much easier than it sounds. First, you should avoid direct sun exposure whenever you can. Second, you should wear sunscreen every time you walk out the house, sun or rain, it takes only five minutes to do it. Third, when the sun is strong, wear broad-brimmed hats and sunglasses.

Wear less makeup

Less Makeup

Many of the makeup products we are using contain harmful chemicals that are clogging our pores, damaging our skin and even hurting our overall health. So, what are you going to do about it? Simple: wear less makeup. You will spend less time putting it on and you’ll do your skin a favour. Concealer, lip balm and mascara can give you that fresh-faced gorgeous look, but if you have to use more than that, at least make sure the products are reliable.

Your skin is the telltale indicator of how good you feel. Invest minimal time and effort into taking proper care of it, and show everyone just how healthy and happy you are.

That is great advice! I always am weary of the fits all types products and this makes so much sense! Thank you for the awesome information.

I’ve already implemented some of this points – particularly the minimal make up. Probably about 2 years ago I stopped wearing it every day and it was super scary the first time I left the house without it but these days I’m absolutely fine with it! Haven’t heard of SKN products before so a good read. Thanks

Way too go! The strategy is to gradually wear less and less that way it’s not so scary.

Great tips! You are right! The best way to healthy skin is through good nutrition! And I never leave house without applying a sunscreen.

I wish I had been more diligent with applying sunscreen when I was younger, I wouldn’t have half the skin issues I have now.
